About the Show
The littl' Bits follows the adventures of the tiny pixies of Foothill Forest. Willibit, Lillibit, and their friends spend their days playing in the forest or helping their fellow villagers with their daily work. Time would move along peacefully, perhaps aside from Willibit and the spoiled mayor's son Snagglebit constantly arguing over Lillibit's affection. But the children's well-meaning curiosity and eagerness often gets them into perilous predicaments. The smallest of the littl' bits frequently find themselves venturing away from the adults into dangerous places to solve the mysteries of the forest, to help their animal friends, or to see for themselves all the miracles nature has to offer. Luckily, despite being so small, the littl' bits have sizable amounts of courage. They persevere through their troubles and learn some lessons along the way.
The Littl' Bits was originally produced in 1980 in Japan by Tatsunoko Productions under the name of "Mori no Yogi na Shojintachi: Berufi to Rirubitto" or "Cheerful Dwarves of the Forest: Belfy and Lillibit." The English version produced by Saban made its way to American TV in 1991, The Littl' Bits, like other cartoons airing at the time (The Smurfs, Maya the Bee) followed the premise of tiny characters living in a full-sized world. But it featured some heartwarming and even heartbreaking moments that made its little characters stand out as nothing short of lovable.
