Around the World in 80 Ways is an American reality show that aired on History in 2011. The program followed television personality Rob Mariano and professional monster truck driver Dennis Anderson as they traveled around the world using 80 various forms of transportation. The show was also broadcast in Southeast Asia on the Discovery Channel.
Overview
Rob Mariano, known as Boston Rob during his time on "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race," teams up with Dennis Anderson, the creator of the Grave Digger monster truck, in this reality show that features the pair traveling around the world ... but not in the way you might expect them to do it. In fact, they use 80 different modes of transportation -- on the land, through the water or in the air -- in order to complete their global journey. Among the methods the pair uses to traverse the globe are rushing down Victoria Falls in a barrel and crossing the Kalahari on an ostrich (yes, an ostrich). At some points along the way, they even have to invent their own methods of transportation. But racking up the miles isn't enough for Mariano and Anderson. They also explore the history behind the many ways people have gotten around through time.
